Live Well in Your Own Home

Support that helps you continue living life your way

Who is Thrive Homecare?

We are a small local team of friendly professionals who provide support for people in their own homes living in Ashford, Canterbury, Whitstable and the surrounding villages.

We strongly believe that good support should help you continue living life your way.

We help people continue to enjoy the life they have built, in the home they love, surrounded by the people, pets and routines that matter most to them.

What Support do You Provide?

Imagine having a personal assistant pop in to help out at home. Someone who gets to know you, understands your routines and preferences, and quietly takes care of some of the everyday details that have become more demanding.

That might mean preparing a favourite meal, putting the bins out, changing the bed linen, accompanying you to an appointment, or simply sharing a cup of tea and a good conversation.

Our aim is never to take over. It is to help you spend less time worrying about everyday tasks and more time doing the things that bring meaning and enjoyment to your life.

Every person we meet is different, which is why we always start by listening. We want to understand your story, your interests, your routines and the things that are important to you, so that any support feels like a natural extension of your life rather than a disruption to it.

When is the Right Time?

There is no perfect moment. The right time is simply the time that feels right to you.

Many people are surprised to discover that support doesn't have to be every day. It can be as little as one visit a week, giving you the opportunity to get to know us and gradually build a trusted relationship. If, over time, you decide you would like a little more support, we can adapt at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

In our experience, starting that relationship before support becomes essential often makes all the difference. It allows us to understand what is important to you, get to know your routines and preferences, and work alongside you to help you remain living independently in the home you love.

Questions You May Have

Will I lose my independence?
No. Quite the opposite.
Our purpose is to help you remain as independent as possible, continuing to make your own decisions and live life in the way you choose. We are there to support your independence, not replace it.

Will I see a different person every time?
No. We know how important it is to see familiar faces.
We carefully match you with a small, consistent team who take the time to get to know you properly. As your relationship grows, they'll learn about your routines, your preferences and the little things that make a difference to your day.
There may occasionally be times when your usual Health & Wellbeing Associate is on holiday or unwell, but if another colleague needs to visit, we make sure they're someone who has been introduced to you beforehand.

Will someone tell me what to do?
Never. This is your home, your life and your future.
We are guests in your home, and we never forget that. Everything we do is shaped around your wishes, your preferences and the life you want to continue living.

Will it feel strange having someone in my home?
It probably will at first, and that's completely understandable.
Trust isn't built in a single visit. It grows over time.
Your Associate will take the time to get to know you properly, not just the practical things, but the stories, interests and experiences that make you who you are.
Many people tell us that what felt unfamiliar at first soon became one of the highlights of their week.

"Julie always knows how to make me laugh. She is helpful, kind and caring, and we go to different places together. I always feel better after we've spent time together, and having her support has made such a difference to my life."

Anne (Client)

"I never imagined companionship could be this good. Claire has been absolutely marvellous and I couldn't wish for a better person to support me. Thanks to her, I've been able to get out, visit new places and enjoy things I wouldn't have done on my own."

Barbara (Client)

"What has made the biggest difference to me is having someone to talk to, who listens to me and understands me, and shares my interests."

Cally (Client)

"Having someone who makes me laugh has made such a difference. We have such lovely chats and it's something I really look forward to every week."

Thelma (Client)

"Incredible service - a company that truly cares about their customers. Agota (from Thrive) always responds quickly to any queries and is so empathetic with clients, going above and beyond every time. She really takes time to get to know people and explore their individual needs and interests. Her comprehensive knowledge of the care system is invaluable. I would not hesitate to recommend her."

Claire (Referring Solicitor)

"I couldn’t speak more highly of Georgina from Thrive. She is just great, she's always the same, enthusiastic and caring, always very helpful. I couldn't ask for anybody more caring, kind and professional."

Joy (Wife of client)

“I am very happy with the services that the girls from Thrive Homecare are providing for me.”

Andrea (Client)

"My mother has recently started receiving support from Thrive Home Care, and our experience has been extremely positive. Mum is 95 and living with dementia. She lives alone and has always been fiercely independent, with little awareness of her need for support. From the first meeting, Emma built a natural rapport with Mum, which was incredibly reassuring. Emma currently visits once a week, with plans to increase support over time."

Barry (Son of client)

“From the moment I met my consultant, Agota, I felt very at ease and comfortable. She explained everything clearly and helped me understand how Thrive could support me. My companion helps me with shopping trips and attending medical appointments. I would highly recommend this service to anyone in a similar situation to mine.”

Adriana (Client)

"Thrive Homecare are very caring and ensure our resident has everything that they need, stimulating activities, working with our home to ensure all needs are met. Companions are kind and respectful and easy to communicate with."

Care Home Manager

"It’s like I’ve got mum back... and she’s happier than I’ve seen her in years."

Jean (Daughter of client)

"You came along and took me on adventures I never even dreamed of."
